“It’s not the loopholes. It’s the problem that once you start looking at how easy it is to get around it, you would literally have to ban every semi-automatic rifle that’s sold in the U.S.”
FAMSVARPAC’s mission is to prevent the mass shootings made possible when civilians have easy access to military grade semi-automatic rifles, magazines, and bump stocks — guns that were meant for war, not schools.
We will do this by investing in targeted upcoming federal races, focusing our efforts against politicians who oppose this goal.
Close to 80 percent of mass shootings include semi-automatic weapons. They have no place in the hands of private citizens. We echo the words of the courageous students from March For Our Lives: Either change the law or change the lawmakers. FAMSVARPAC plans to do both.
Contributions are being received from across the country, frequently in increments of $17, to honor the 17 lives lost at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Valentine’s Day, 2018.
• $17.00 to “Join Us In Our Mission”
• $170.00 to become an “Orange Ribbon Member” and receive an orange ribbon designed by Parkland parent, Fred Guttenberg, to honor his daughter Jamie, who passed away in the Marjory Stoneman Douglas shooting
• $1700.00 to become a “Partner For Change” and directly interact with our Team and Senior Staff.
Who We Are
Families vs. Assault Rifles PAC (FAMSVARPAC) was founded by parents of Parkland, Florida Douglas High students subsequent to the shooting on February 14, 2018. The Committee includes parents of children who survived this mass shooting and parents of children who did not. The shooter used an AR-15 assault rifle to kill 14 students, 3 staff members and injured 17 others, during his 6-minute shooting spree.
FAMSVARPAC is non-partisan, and its members include gun violence victims, law enforcement officials, elected officials, veterans, and families who do not want their children and grandchildren to be the next national headline.
